ABOUT HOWIE

Howie was born and raised on the south side of Chicago.  He is the youngest of 8 kids.  Yes you guessed it, Irish Catholics.   Since most of his brothers and sisters were much older then him he was the only one left in the house by his teens. He could also get away with just about anything because his parents had seen it all by the time he got around to it, so they did not sweat the small stuff.  Since he did not like school at all, he went to work right away after high school.   He began working on a truck dock at a very small trucking firm.  Within a few years it had become a very large trucking firm and Howie had grown with them becoming a manager at the age of 21.  That summer job had now become a full time career.   He met Susie around the same time he got the job, and although that progressed a little slower, they were married in 1993.   They bought a house together and began living the American dream.  Problem was, it was not Howie’s dream.  He always had an itch to do something different.  After taking some improv classes at The Players Workshop in Chicago, also in 1993, he couldn’t shake the desire to perform. It took over ten years to act on it, but he finally did when he began classes at Chicago’s very own Second City.  It was suggested as he went through the Conservatory there that he would benefit from some acting classes as well.  He took the advice, and never looked back.  After 20 years in the trucking business he retired to pursue his acting career.  Thanks to the support of his incredible wife he was able to put all his effort into it.  He has performed in many theaters around Chicago including Donny’s Skybox at Second City, Illinois Theatre Center, Mary-Arrchie, EP Theater, Trap Door Theater, and Pegasus Players.  He was also an ensemble member of The Boxer Rebellion Theater where he performed in over 10 productions.  He made his television debut on an episode of ER and has since been on Prison Break.  He has also starred in several independent movies as well as The Express with Dennis Quade and The Informant with Matt Damon.  He plans on seeing you soon either at the movies or in your living room.  Thanks to Susie for bringing home the bacon and allowing him more then his share.
